QOTD: "The [Republican] party has always rebounded from situations like this. The one mistake they could make is if they tried to be ‘Democrats-lite’ and try to mimic the Democrats. I don’t think that’s either good government or good politics, because I don’t think that’s what the public wants." --Former Attorney General Edwin Meese

So a doctor (any doctor) can contact the "authorities" about a dangerous person with guns. It also means that if a person has a gun, all you need is a doctor to have it confiscated by the "authorities".

If a Physician ever asks about guns just reply that this is "a boundary violation" and don't go there.
Or, you can tell him you are worried about your neighbor and see what happens.

Doug,

You're on Blogger, and your blog is still here. Ours (gatesofvienna.blogspot.com) just disappeared. "Has been removed".

There was no warning, no email, no link saying "deleted blogs" on the dashboard. One minute it was there, and the next it was gone.

If you (or your readers) have any information about what might have happened, please email me at unspiek@chromatism.net .

I always knew we could get taken down -- we're bad, bad Islamophobes -- but I didn't think it would be so sudden.

Today's negative link--The Worst Link in the World--once again goes to Business Insider, although this was written by Rob Wile (and not past "winner" Joe Weisenthal):

"The True Story Of How California Came Back From The Brink And Started Kicking Ass Again"

California's back, baby! Just elect a wise Democrat governor, like Jerry Brown! Raise taxes on citizens even more! Sit back and watch the surpluses roll in!

I live in Texas and California businesses and people have been moving here in droves for the past decade. Why is that if California is back?

California pensions (for teachers and other municipal employees) are getting worse each year. Aren't they? Or did they somehow all go away when Jerry Brown became governor?

Didn't three California cities declare bankruptcy? They're back already?

Isn't this the state that pinned its financial life on the infamous Facebook IPO that failed to raise as much as expected?

Didn't I read that the increases in California taxes have failed to raise revenue as expected? I think I read that on this blog.

So how is California back?

Let's look at some comments:

"Clearly you don't live here. Theres no jobs. And I live in south Orange County."

"There is no budget surplus either. It's a complete lie. That budget is so rife with fraud and accounting gimmicks it makes Madoff pale in comparison."

"This is false. The numbers are 'Projected' and not real at this time. The total revenue needed will fall short because people will spend less and the state will get less revenue. You can tax as much as you can...and California is now the highest taxed state...but you won't get more revenue by taxing more. It's just a proven fact."

And finally:

"The only place this state is kicking ass on is the taxpayer.

This site really ought to change its name to political insider or leftist political insider.

I see very little actual business information on this side, especially of the insider variety.

As for California, check back in a couple of years, This article will be long forgotten."

Does anyone (besides me) remember that 2010 Newsweek cover that proudly declared "America's Back!"? Obama is president! We have a stimulus package! It's all good! So why do we have trillion dollar deficits every year?

For shamelessly pushing Jerry Brown's propaganda, Business Insider is today's Worst Link in the World.
